that mural is amazing! the best part is that it's something cool enough for him to grow with, not something that he'll be too old for in a year or two.

call me! this is something i know a thing or two about. c is right about corrective therapies, and i think e. has an incredible foundation, both with awesome, intelligent and loving parents, and many, many inate strengths and skills to build upon. i'm going to email you my number in case you don't have it anymore.

I can't say "don't stress" because I know better. But I'm certain things will pan out fine, and you'll take care of getting E sorted out.

hey Squarepants, It's tough. I'm in the same situation with my son. He is not PDD but he still has some aspects of it, just not enough for the diagnosis. Apparently, He needs to be twice as bad according to the doctors. Mostly they think he has bad APD (auditory processing disorder). He has echolalia, etc. though. Repeats lines from books and television shows. Memorizes whole books, etc. Therapy really does help and typically it's free through your school district. I would recommend looking into DIR, you can read more about their approach at www.floortime.org.

Hey Sq, my little neice who was born a few months before E. has the same speech delay stuff. She has a therapist, it's actually free from someplace close to my brother's house in IN. She has made lots of progress and they say it can all be caught up before school starts. Don't worry!! We were all so worried, but it turns out this thing happens with lots of kids.

Sigh...this is one club I wish I didn't have to welcome you to. Hang tough. Be a firm advocate for your son. Do what feels right and know that our guys DO get better. I promise. ~LA
